oiy. For the last 4 nights Miss Kate has woke up at 2/3/4.30/5.30/8am. No joke. I thought that maybe her days/nights were mixed up? But yesterday she only napped from 1pm-5.30pm and a brief like 20m nap in the morning. The day before she slept 3hrs in the morning and 3 or 4hrs? in the afternoon and still woke up every hour.
She goes to sleep at 9.30-10pm then her first wake up of the night is usually 1 or 2am and from then on she wakes every hour to 1.5hrs. I was also thinking it was a formula issue, since we were trying different (cheaper) brands and they were giving her constipation issues. We have resolved that though and she still is not sleeping better.
I'm aware that she is only 2m old but really once every hour?? That just does not seem normal to me. I get that I had a 'perfect' sleeper the first time so this is probably a lot harder for me then if I'd had a shitty sleeper the first time, but still, if she can sleep for a 3-4hr interval during the day, then why not at night??
She does only eat 3oz at a feed, but she does the same during the day and can go longer stretches soooo...sigh
We are not about to attempt any sleep training at this young of an age, but man it's hitting us both hard. We put a bed in her room yesterday and now one of us will be sleeping in there with her until (if ever) her sleep cycles increase. It sucks not sleeping in the same bed as my husband for the first time in 4yrs. :0(
We were co-sleeping up until 2w ago, however one of us in the bed had to work at 7am and Kate waking woke him up even though I was feeding her. And while some would say "Big deal he can go back to sleep", when your kid is waking up so frequently, it definitely effects your sleep and your work day.
Hopefully things will balance out soon.
I was spoiled with a good sleeper too, so I got nothing for you but I hope it gets better soon!!! maybe she is getting teeth already?
