The Makings of a Smile

I am almost positive yesterday morning after her morning feed she smiled at me and I saw what I though was another smile later on, but I did not have my camera hand either time. I was play around this morning and caught this snapshot which I think is pretty darn close to a smile. :0)

Sleepless Nights..

At least someone other then her big sister is getting enough sleep in this house. heh In somewhat sad news, at just short of 6w she's starting to outgrow her 0-3m clothes (GAP). I noticed today that her pants and rompers are getting too short. I'm happy she's growing but I'm sad that it seems to be happening so quickly!

A day at the Zoo with Friends

How I managed a nice 'natural' smile is beyond me, luck, all luck!

But do not let the sweet face fool you, her goofiness is always just bubbling on the surface!

Her and her best bud sharing a 'frozen' as Tash calls it.

Holding hands on the way to lunch;

One last pose outside the zoo north gate entrance before we left for the day;

Oh and we did actually see animals other then our children. :p

Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

Tash: "Five monkeys jumping on the bed, mom called doctor No more jumping on the bed!!"

hehe - This is the FIRST interest Tash has shown in her little sister since we brought her home from the hospital. Was so cute watching her read to her this morning while I got dressed.

Beautiful Day for a Visit to the Calgary Zoo

K slept the whole time, minus one feeding:

Tash on the other hand obsessed over the 'phones' that talk about the animals and ran around burning off steam. She'll definitely sleep well tonight. :D

We even got to see the new baby giraffe;

When all else fails...

Bribery is your best friend for getting a 3 yr old to help you out when you need that second set of hands and a polite "no thank you" from her is not cutting it.

Her first Milestone

The great thing about having friends with babies a bit older then yours? They remember milestones because they just recently experienced them with their little ones. Apparently Miss K is going through a 3w growth spurt, which explains the sleep, eat, eat, eat, crankiness, sleep a bit more.

I can't complain too much though, Last night she went to sleep at 11pm and slept until 3:45am! It was lovely. "Only" a little over 4hrs, but hey I'll take it and needed it. Owen's night shift(s) start Friday, which I can't wait for, I'm beat! I wish Tash still napped.

Accidental Co-Sleeper

When we brought Tash home from the hospital, my parents were staying with us and were sleeping in her room. So the first 2 weeks of her life she slept in our room in a bassinet. It was at that point that Owen decided she was too 'noisy' and we moved her to her crib in her room.

This time, Kate is in our room, in the same bassinet because unfortunately her room and N's are the coldest in the winter and warmest in the summer. So we made the decision to have her in our room until things warmed up as we do not trust a space heater in there and turning up the heat does not help. We think it's an insulation issue for that side of the house.

Anyway, Owen is still not 'excited' to have her in our room, again she's "noisy" like her sister was, but not only that, she is sleeping in our bed more then Tash did. Owen sees it as an issue down the road, when we move her to her room/crib. I on the other hand see it as convenient.

She sleeps soo much better in bed beside me. Plus it's soooo much easier to just reach on my nightstand, grab her bottle and feed her while I'm toasty warm under the duvet vs getting out of bed, walking to the other side of the room, feeding her, getting her back to sleep and then getting myself back to sleep. So for me, it's 'easier'.

I have to admit too, I really love having her in bed with me. I'm getting a bit sentimental, but I'm pretty sure this is our last 'baby' and I want to stretch it out and enjoy these 'little' moments as much as I can.

Out of the Mouths of Babes

Earlier tonight Tash pees in her potty, she then calls out to Owen

N: "Ohhh Daddddyyy"
*no answer* so I call Oweeennn!
N: Ohhh Oweeeennnn!

Owen comes out and I'm laughing over her calling him Owen. He looks at her and goes "I'm daddy" to which Tash replies "I'm Tasha!"

A new Project

I've added a link just under the header of my blog. I've decided to attempt to post/take a photo daily. Be prepared that it will probably be of the girls, but I'll try to step away from that and take photos of other subjects as well. :0)
